Why Shop Independent?
“Independent bookstores act as community anchors; they serve a unique role in promoting the open exchange of ideas, enriching the cultural life of communities, and creating economically vibrant neighborhoods.”
-American Booksellers Association

The U of M Bookstores is completely owned and operated by the University; this makes us a small, local business! Each time you make a purchase at our store, revenue goes back into the University community, whether that be to students, staff, faculty, or campus.
